Leather Care
Vegetable-tanned leather is meant to age. A little attention is all it asks.
Everyday
Let the leather breathe. Wipe dust away with a soft, dry cloth. Handling with clean hands is the finest conditioner there is; the oils in your skin feed the hide and deepen its patina.
If it gets wet
Blot gently with a dry cloth and let the piece dry away from direct heat and sunlight. Do not use a dryer or a radiator. A little water will mark at first and settle in time.
Conditioning
Two or three times a year, work a small amount of neutral leather balm into the hide with a soft cloth, then buff. Test on a hidden area first. Less is always more.
Storing
Keep your piece in its dust bag, loosely filled to hold its shape, somewhere cool and dry. Avoid plastic, which stops the leather breathing.
Brass
Our brass is unlacquered and will patina. Leave it to darken, or return it to shine with a light brass polish on a cotton cloth.
Cared for simply, a piece will outlast the reason you bought it.
